Now, on to “Why Every Business Should Hire a Social Media Manager.”

One of the first things we do when we wake up is check social media to find out what friends and family are up to or to post our own status updates. As much as this networking technology has made a huge impact on how we connect with those who are closest to us, it has also helped businesses of all sizes grow by reaching their target demographic. Whether your business is still small or it is a large corporation, here are some of the top reasons to use social media as part of your marketing campaign.

Gets people talking

Social media can be used as a narrative for businesses to tell a story. Sharing a story through posts gets people engaged in the social media campaign and ultimately build the brand. Not only will this help get your customer’s attention, but will also help attract more customers. We believe a brand that we know, like, and trust and we’re more likely to become fans or followers of social media pages that are also liked by our peers, colleagues, and loved ones.

Increases brand awareness

Especially for small businesses, social media marketing is an excellent way to make more people aware of your products or services. Having a consistent marketing message throughout your social media posts and pictures will enhance the chances of your audience recognizing your company and all that it has to offer.

Small and large businesses can compete equally

Print ads in magazines, billboards, and newspapers is a highly effective way to build brands, but requires a large budget. Fortunately, social media marketing levels the playing field. By creating an online marketing campaign that is liked and shared, you can easily receive more website traffic and that means more exposure.

Allows search engines to find you

The rules for link building is constantly changing. Should you acquire more “do follow” links than “no follow” links? Will you be penalized by getting too many links? Are they quality links? The number of questions you probably have on this topic may be lengthy, but can be resolved by becoming active on social media websites. Every time a new blog or social media profile is created for your website, you are getting more link juice, resulting in better rankings on search engines like Google and Bing.

Inexpensive

As I mentioned previously, traditional marketing methods can be extremely costly, ranging from a few hundred to thousands of dollars. Social media marketing campaigns have a small price tag and if done correctly, can give you huge rewards. It does require time and patience before you will begin to see any results. In addition to organic growth, ads can be advantageous on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn for a small fee. Explore Google Adwords Express for a quick launch to be found on Google search.

Opens up a direct line of communication with consumers

Once you create those social media accounts, your company is no longer available just locally, but can also be viewed globally. Customers will also have the opportunity to stay engaged on your pages by posting, comments, questions, or complaints. By promptly responding, customers worldwide will feel as if they are being heard and will potentially become loyal to your brand.

Research what customers like

The wonderful thing about talking to customers through a computer screen is the fact that they feel more comfortable sharing their feelings and thoughts. Want to know how your audience feels about a specific product, service, or marketing campaign? Ask them online and they will be more than happy to share their honest thoughts with you. This honesty will allow you to improve your company’s offerings to better suit the needs of new and current customers.

Leverage yourself as an expert

Answering industry-related questions you find by following certain hashtags or are posted in a message board will help you earn an expert status among your audience. Frequently answering questions will not only have others looking to you for the answer, but will also continuously keep your company’s name top-of-mind with customers. Writing blog posts on some of the questions you see will also allow you to more thoroughly explain yourself and become known for your knowledge on the topic.

Boost website traffic

With millions of websites competing for traffic, it may seem nearly impossible to get the amount of traffic you want. Social media makes it easy for businesses. One shared social media post has the potential to attract many people to your website.

Social media can be a powerful marketing tool if done correctly, but make sure to give each campaign the time, energy, and patience needed before major results become evident.

Instagram just launched Reels, Facebook's answer to Tiktok! I tested it out for the first time and well, I need more practice for sure! Or I needed more coffee. Surely I needed help in general. But after searching for the "audio" selection which offers music clips for your Reels I gave up. My business account, @sparqmarketing, doesn't yet have "audio". So I went over to the next best thing, my personal account @alisonstripling. Why do I have two accounts? So I don't spam you with all my pics of all my kids. You're welcome.
